Avidemux 
Avidemux is a free, cross-platform video-editing tool for Windows, Mac OS, Linux and BSD. It can be used for various tasks like encoding, converting videos from different formats, cutting videos, resizing, filtering, adding subtitles, deinterlacing and color correction. Avidemux offers support for some popular codes and files like MKV, MPEG, AVI, MP4, DVD and ASE It is one of the best free video editing software for multimedia editors.
